PURPOSE:

The Operations Manager will assist the Assistant Terminal Manager (where applicable) / Terminal Manager in meeting the business goals of BWC Terminals by managing the shift team, productivity, and enforcing overall safety of the Terminal operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
  • Purchase materials, plan operations, and oversee terminal efficiency.
  • Maintain inventories and monitor usage of operating supplies, consumable safety supplies and miscellaneous supplies.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain compliant.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives
  • Manage Opex and forecasts.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs
  • Develop and provide necessary operator training in operations and safety with the assistance of HSEQ Department and Human Resources.
  • Manage and maintain operational training records.
  • Find ways to increase the quality of customer service.
  • Manage day-to-day activity for terminal projects.
  • Communicate daily work instruction and safety moments in both oral and written form, to operating personnel in order to maintain safe, effective, and efficient operations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES, MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven work experience in a supervisor or management role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in liquid terminal operations.
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills
