How you will contribute to LifeNet Healths success:

As a Laboratory Technologist, you will perform highly complex laboratory testing in registered CLIA specialty/subspecialty Microbiology-Bacteriology. Technologists must have working knowledge of plating, gram staining, and identification of microbiological samples. Technologists may also perform specialized testing in non-clinical (industrial) procedures.

What youll do:

  • Demonstrates ability to perform and interpret highly complex laboratory testing in registered CLIA subspecialties and non-clinical (industrial) testing according to SOP and within established timeframes. Performs quality control according to established procedure. Maintains technical competency; performs testing with accuracy and precision.
  • Makes sound decisions based upon established procedure, rules, regulations, facts, and logic. Recognizes and reports atypical events encountered during performance of tests and documents CAPA when required.
  • Reports test results using manual and laboratory information systems (LIS) according to established procedure; maintains complete and accurate departmental and donor records.
  • Monitors and operates laboratory equipment according to established procedure.
  • Assures a safe, clean, and orderly work area including maintenance of reagents, supplies, and stored samples. Monitors supply and reagent levels, notifying appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.
  • Performs laboratory proficiency testing as required by regulatory agencies.

What youll bring (Minimum Requirements):


  • Bachelor of Science Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science
  • ONE (1) year related laboratory testing environment
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification or achieved within six (6) months of time in position.
  • Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) certification or achieved within 3 years of employment and maintain throughout employment in position.

  • Laboratory testing: Knowledge of laboratory procedures in relevant areas of testing
  • Business environment: Knowledge of Microsoft OS and laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Decision making: Ability to use complex reasoning to make decisions; decisions have departmental scope/effect
  • Interpersonal: Knowledge of effective teamwork, effective interdepartmental communication

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location and the candidates qualifications and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $24.16 (entry-level qualifications) to $32.21 (experienced in this role*).

*Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidates knowledge and relevant experience.
