We currently have an opportunity for a Transportation Planner (Temporary Role) located at our Corporate office in Lake Forest, IL.

Your Role:

As a Transportation Planner, (Temporary Role) you will plan the freight for the company while also balancing customer service requirements, ensuring carrier compliance, and maintaining cost effectiveness. This individual will trouble shoot, track carriers, analyze and plan various transportation projects, and provide recommendations where appropriate to increase efficiencies, improve processes and/or reduce costs.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform initial load planning and routing for all outbound transport
  • Resolve any product distribution issues by manning the transportation inbox
  • Maximize space and equipment needs utilization on trucks
  • Actively work to improve costs
Ultimately, you will play an integral role in our company and will ensure that our deliveries arrive on time and that our customers are satisfied thereby impacting the business as a whole.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Logistics or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, manufacturing, or distribution operations in a multi-facility environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Icing on the cake:

  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, and JDE
  • Experience with Shippers Commonwealth and Best Transport
