Work location: Hybrid in Malvern, PA or West Reading, PA location coming into the office at least 3 days per week with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday being set days.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of all SBA and Small Business portfolio management staff within the business unit.  As the front-line manager, provide coordination with relationship management groups, underwriting teams and other ancillary lines of business to ensure accurate and timely monitoring of loans post-closing and loan servicing, annual loan reviews and loan sales.  Maintain strong communication with Borrowers, Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to ensure efficient and accurate tickler management. Provide training and guidance to group staff on appropriate actions to identify and report collateral monitoring issues and credit deterioration. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s and SBA’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the bank’s SBA and SBLG portfolio management functions ensuring compliance with specific government guidelines and bank lending policies and practices.

  • Ensure exceptional customers support is being provided to the client base.

  • Perform portfolio management activities including reviews, renewals, and modifications of Small Business and Government Guaranteed loans promptly.

  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to credit quality goals established for the portfolio.

  • Responsible for managing delinquencies of the SBA and SBLG portfolios and oversees and analyzes Watch list accounts and reports.

  • Train, teach and develop staff. Actively manage, coach, and counsel individuals to improve their understanding of portfolio management responsibilities and the significance of portfolio management in risk management in adherence with both bank and SBA guidelines.

  • Reviews daily overdraft report on assigned accounts.

  • Provide directions to Portfolio Managers as it relates to risk rating reviews.

  • Responsible for coordination of SBA PARRIS audits and communicating the results.

  • Act as a liaison between Portfolio Managers, the Business Units, Credit Administration and Special Assets.

  • Responsible for selling SBA guaranteed loans on the secondary market.

  • Provides SBA portfolio managers with guidance on construction monitoring.

  • Provides constructive suggestions to Portfolio Management on ways to enhance the portfolio management and related processes.

What do you need?

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking or similar industry with a proven track record in credit administrative and portfolio management.

  • Prior SBA lending experience is highly preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and leading high-performance teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field.

Technology Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, IBS or similar software
