Overview

Vice President, Strategic Finance

We are seeking an experienced Vice President, Strategic Finance, with extensive FP&A experience. As Director Strategic Finance , you will play a critical role in aligning financial strategies. This role requires a consistent application of critical thinking skills, an excellent understanding of financial statements, sound financial logic, complex problem solving, and the ability to drive results through independent work. The successful candidate will have the ability to think both strategically and tactically. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and managing a small team of finance business partners, you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance that contribute to informed strategic decision-making and profitability within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key financial advisor to business leaders, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive informed decision-making; Present financial updates to leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee the development of accurate forecasts, budgets, and long-range projections that reflect revenue streams of a SaaS, publications, data and software companies.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to incorporate growth projections, customer acquisition costs, and retention strategies into financial plans.
  • Partner with global business leaders to evaluate key trends, identify profitable growth opportunities and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Provide financial guidance for strategic initiatives, expansions, and partnerships
  • Effectively communicate and present financial scenarios and impacts to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage financial models to simulate various growth scenarios, pricing strategies, and customer acquisition scenarios for the various businesses.
  • Assess financial risks inherent to the SaaS, editorial, data and consulting industries, such as contract cancellations and technology shifts, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Manage a high-functioning department that is collaborative and delivers high-quality decision support.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Proven experience (15+ years) in a similar global strategic financial role. Preferred experience with publications, events, research, consulting or data and services industries.
  • At least 5+ years of managing and leading a global diverse team Strategic thinker comfortable working with abstract scenarios to identify and evaluate opportunities and outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret financial data, generate insights, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Experience working with a SaaS software company
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools; advanced Excel skills are a must.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets and critical metrics and summarize for executive level review
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and ethical financial practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

The anticipated total annual compensation, dependingi on locatoin and experience, is between 280,000-360,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variabe compenstaion (if applicable)
