The Financial Analyst position is responsible for the analysis, review, commentary, and reporting of the financial results as well as projections for the business. In addition, this position is responsible for applying finance and accounting principles to analyze the operating results of the operations. This position analyzes numerous attributes of the business to provide management with a quick synopsis of the overall results and the effect on forecasts and budgets. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of data within the financial reporting system and ERP
  • Work with the Finance team and IT to ensure the reporting system design is representative of the organization’s reporting needs
  • Data input into headquarter consolidation tool for forecasts, budgets and recasts
  • Monthly analysis of operational results vs. forecast, budget and prior year
  • Monthly preparation of summary results and management reporting packages
  • Daily monitoring of key economic indicators that affect our overall business
  • Develop financial models and tools to perform data analysis
  • Understand accounting principles applied and their effect on the overall financial results
  • Monitor and analyze variances and trends vs. budget and prior year
  • Support, research and assist in special financial projects as assigned

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, tasks, and initiatives
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to work across multiple businesses in multiple locations
  • Strong database management skills and ability to organize data in a clean form
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends as required
  • Strong financial analysis skills working with all aspects of financial statements and internal reporting as well as and understanding of best practices in the area of shared services
  • High energy level, self-starter, proactive and results oriented
  • Operates with full openness and transparency and unquestioned integrity
  • Understands and maintains assigned SOX process and control documents to ensure operating effectiveness. Performs control reviews on a timely basis and responds to document requests from the auditors, providing adequate evidence to prove the control is operating as designed. Communicates immediately to Internal Audit when a testing exception occurs, indicating the control is not operating effectively.

Skills, Knowledge, and Education

  • BA/BS degree in finance, accounting or a related field with a minimum of one year experience in finance or related functions
  • Maximum proficiency using common software packages such as Oracle, Cognos (TM1), Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook is mandatory
