Roux is seeking a responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Senior Environmental Technician to independently perform field tasks associated with our project sites, including the operation and maintenance of remediation systems. Field sites are mostly located in Texas. Candidates should be prepared to work on projects related to the investigation and environmental remediation of industrial and commercial sites. Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 20+ years of relevant experience
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Proficient in performing various routine field activities including but not limited to applying proper sampling techniques for all environmental media, remediation system operations and maintenance, overseeing and directing subcontractors, and supporting junior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field.
  • Understanding of environmental and health & safety regulations and performing work in a compliant manner with the regulations and facility safety requirements
  • Willingness to support the project team to service clients and complete projects on time and on budget
  • Ability to perform physical labor including the ability to physically move around outdoors in various terrains, occasionally lift and carry objects and equipment, and climb ladders to access areas
  • Use of a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between worksites (note: a Company vehicle may be available for use)
  • Field work year-round, most of which is outdoors

Preferred Requirements

  • Valid OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Certification and 8-Hour Refresher course certification

Note: Roux will provide training for new employees who do not already possess these certifications.

Essential Duties

  • Conducting site remediation system operations and maintenance activities independently
  • Inspecting system equipment to evaluate remedial system performance and identify potential malfunctions
  • Performing maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance
  • Collecting samples from monitoring wells and recovery wells
  • Collecting, recording, and evaluating system performance data
  • Oversight and supervision of subcontractors involved in environmental remediation and system maintenance and repairs
  • Maintaining a strong health and safety focus while performing field tasks.
