Facilities Support Manager



The University of Pittsburgh, Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, is seeking a highly motivated Departmental Facilities Support Manager to oversee physical plant for a four-building Life Science complex: Clapp Hall, Langley Hall, Crawford Hall, and the Life Science Annex. The individual will initiate, prioritize, and coordinate work orders for the maintenance of building systems and lab equipment, and partner with both outside vendors and University facilities management personnel to achieve expeditious results. Key partners include FM Facility Managers, building engineers, and all trades. Duties will also include management of small-medium renovation projects and physical access (electronic and key). Must have superior customer service and communication skills as well as strong technical skills. The Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences is committed to building a culturally diverse staff. Job Summary

Drives academic mission of the University by facilitation, assessment, and management of capital projects and intermittent special projects. Prepares proposed facility plans and renovations, designs proposed changes to buildings, and acts as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Prepares and presents complex analyses and reports for leadership and addresses operational and administrative needs and concerns.

Physical Effort

This position will require movement throughout the Life Sciences Building complex, including walking long hallways and navigating staircases. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying of loads up to 50 lbs. up 1-2 flights of stairs.
