POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Welding Lead provides lead supervision in the oversight of the activities of the weld shop and performs specialized duties involving welding and metal fabrication related to renewable energy and tower internals. The Welding Lead will be responsible for assigning jobs to meet production schedule, supervising welding technicians, planning daily and weekly duties, VT welds for welders, and estimating time for projects. The Welding Lead will improve and increase the quality of production and fabrication. Welding Lead will report to the Site Manager in the Brewton facility.

General Responsibilities for Welding Lead

• MIG/TIG/Flux Cored welding experience- 5 years Minimum in education and work experience
• Proficient in reading blueprints and welding symbols
• High level fit up and fabrication skills
• Robotic welding setup/running
• Standard welding machine setup and troubleshooting
• Working Lead- weld with the employees on the floor
• Training welding employees for continuous improvement
• On time delivery
• Quality Inspection and delivery
• VT Qualified
• Safety

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate
• Must have proficient analytical skills and be able to verify processes
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Overhead crane and forklift experience
• Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
• Must work well with others and have the ability to lead and give direction
• Strong desire for continued growth and learning
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible and take construction criticism and apply it
• Willing to work extra hours when needed
• AWS certifications in needed areas
